7 Ways to Extend Your Stash When the Price of Cannabis is Sky High

Cannabis legalization is becoming more widespread in our nation, which means more people have access to legal cannabis than ever before in our lifetime. Cannabis legalization is excellent news for many people. The thought of being able to go to a dispensary and buy cannabis anytime you want sounds amazing. A lot of people are under the impression that cannabis legalization would make the price of cannabis drop. Sadly though, by the time states get done taxing cannabis, you find that you pay prohibition pricing, sometimes even more for legal cannabis which makes it necessary for some to know how to extend their stash. What adds more salt to the wound is that most of the time, the quality is inferior compared to what you were getting on the illegal market. Dealers who operate in the underground know that if their product’s quality doesn’t match its price, people will go elsewhere.

Cannabis dispensaries apparently don’t seem to get this. Or that’s the problem when an industry is flooded by a bunch of people that are completely new to it looking to capitalize on the monetary aspects of it. They don’t know the difference between good and bad cannabis. If you live in a market that sells legal cannabis, then you already know that good cannabis usually comes with a not-so-good price. This means you will want to stretch your stash and make it last as long as you can. Stretching your stash means more than figuring out conservative ways to smoke. Not everybody smokes cannabis. We’re going to explore several different ways to help you save some green. Let’s take a look at a couple of different ways you can help conserve your stash, so you don’t end up burning up all your cash.

Conserve by Smoking Smaller Joints

Instead of rolling that big fatty roll, two or three pinners. You might just find that those smaller joints do the trick too. Some people are surprised to find that smaller joints sometimes taste better than larger ones. Roll a proper pinner joint and see for yourself. The smaller flame doesn’t overheat the cannabis as much, and this could possibly account for the better taste profile. After all, when you are trying to stretch your stash, nothing’s worse than burning off your cannabinoids.

Corner Your Bowls to Extend Your Stash

If you love to blaze joints and/or blunts, you might want to take a bowl break in between. Smoking bowls are a very conservative way to stretch your herb. When lighting a bowl, instead of stoking the entire thing, you can light one little tiny corner and snuff it out in between hits. This will provide you not just one green tasty hit but several. Instead of sitting there smoking a joint, talking, or playing on your phone and letting half your weed go up in smoke, try a bowl or bong instead. Bowls can be a pleasant option to still get your smoke on while conserving some green.

Smoke Less Frequently

This one can be dangerous as it can lead to issues of irritation, anxiety, depression, nausea and even pain. If these situations apply to you, you may want to skip this option. However, if it is in your ability to slow down your consumption rate, it will obviously save you some green. Of course, this doesn’t mean quit smoking, eating, or drinking weed; just do it a little less frequently. Sometimes a slowdown can help lower your tolerance, increasing the effectiveness of your herb as well.

Wait For Deals to Stretch Your Reserve

This one can be hard to do because not every place has consistent deals. With that in mind, though, many places that have a legal market have competition that offers daily specials. Learn the daily specials in your area and which ones are right for you, and you can end up with some pretty lit savings. For example, a local dispensary near me offers 15% off of flower on Wednesday. I try to wait and buy my weed on Wednesday for this reason. I save $45 on a $300 ounce! That’s money in the bank or gas in your tank, be it food or petro!

Conserve Your Cash by Buying in Bulk

Buying cannabis in bulk definitely helps save you money. Legal cannabis dispensaries oftentimes stick to the same sales format that was used by the illegal market for decades. The less you buy, the more you pay. As an example, if you want a gram of weed it will cost you $10. If you want a quarter of weed, it’s $50. If you want an ounce of weed; it’s $150. You get the point, the more you buy the more you save!

Buying cannabis in bulk from dispensaries can definitely help save you cash. On average, a gram of good weed from the dispensary near me is $11 and some change. That means if I buy 28 grams at this price, I’m paying upwards of $308 for an ounce. If I go in and buy an ounce all at one time, I receive a discount, and that ounce only costs me $250. And if I wait to buy it on Wednesday, like mentioned above, I save even more!

Store Your Cannabis Properly So it Lasts Longer

Storing your cannabis properly cannot be stressed enough. If you leave it laying out on a tray, it is going to dry up and lose potency and quality all the way around. It will burn up fast, be harsh, and lack resin. The same thing happens when cannabis is stored in containers that don’t seal properly. It’s not only your cannabis flower that you have to watch out for; your concentrates can lose quality when left open too.

Depending on what type of cannabis concentrates you’re using, you might want to store them in the refrigerator when they’re not being consumed. As for flower, keep it in an airtight container, preferably made of glass, and store it in a cool dark environment. Purchasing moisture retention packs can also be a great investment for helping keep your stash fresh as they keep the humidity in your storage medium at an optimal level.

Switch It Up

Don’t keep buying the same strain from the same place and expect the same results. Switch it up! Your body will build up a tolerance, and the only way to avoid this is by switching it up. With all the varieties of cannabis available today, it should be easy to find your next new favorite. Hopefully, these tips have helped you learn some new ways to conserve your stash!
