The Biden Administration has fired several White House employees for their past cannabis use\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And a Chicago neighborhood will use cannabis tax revenue to provide reparations for its Black community\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The White House Blatantly Upholds the Stoner Stigma<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Several staff members in the White House were either suspended or asked to resign over past cannabis use<\/span><\/p>\n

This comes as a bit of a surprise considering that just last month, the administration released a new policy that would ease restrictions for new hires who had a prior history of drug use<\/span><\/p>\n

Typically, any history of drug use would severely diminish your chances of getting hired for a federal job and that seemed to be on its way out with the past<\/span><\/p>\n

But just as federal cannabis reform legislation make its way through Congress such as the SAFE Banking Act, Biden\u2019s crew terminated several staff for past cannabis use.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It almost seems as if White House staffers were tricked into divulging their past usage since the prior statement suggested that it wouldn\u2019t be a disqualifier.<\/span><\/p>\n

Even several presidents have even admitted to using cannabis among other harder drugs in the past.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So, this certainly is not sitting well for those looking forward to the cannabis reform to what Biden and Harris promised on the campaign trail.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A Chicago Suburb Uses Cannabis to Support its Black Residents and Diversity<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Next in news,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

a Chicago suburb in Evanstown, IL is using cannabis tax revenue to fund reparations for the Black community<\/span><\/p>\n

This program is designed to help compensate Black residents for suffering discriminatory housing policies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Those who led the measure indicated that there are significant gaps in education, wealth, and opportunity\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

and that something needed to be done to mitigate the effects of redlining that still exist today.<\/span><\/p>\n

Leaders indicated that,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to preserve our existing Black residency, which helps us preserve our diversity. In addition, it will include bringing repair to families and returning citizens with a particular focus on those that have been impacted by marijuana arrests,\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Illinois has been a heavy hitter in the way the state has handled cannabis reform<\/span><\/p>\n

The state expunged thousands of cannabis convictions and generated half a billion dollars in revenue in its first year of legalization.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

New York May Finally Legalize<\/strong><\/h2>\n

And lastly,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

New York is one step closer to legalizing recreational cannabis use!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lawmakers have finally come to an agreement in negotiations about impaired driving<\/span><\/p>\n

And expect to release a new bill in the next few days!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The issue that needed resolving was whether or not these violations should be treated as an infraction or misdemeanor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While it still remains unclear what the outcome is going to be, the <\/span>legislation will likely include additional taxes towards law enforcement training for identifying impaired driving\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How roadside tests will be administered is a whole other can of worms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
