They shadow banned my farms Facebook page Belushis Farm and our Instagram. PLUS, they constantly take down our content. Don\u2019t they know canabis a medicine?\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">So sick of Facebook \/ Instagram. Don\u2019t they know canabis a medicine?<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Cannabis Farmer: Jim Belushi (@JimBelushi) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JimBelushi\/status\/1360622841721331713?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 13, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\nBelushi\u2019s tweet echoed the sentiments of a frustrated cannabis industry that felt its content was being unfairly censored by big tech.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Given the cannabis content policies of many tech companies, it is easy to understand why the cannabis industry is fed up. <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/adspolicy\/answer\/6014299?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google<\/a>, for example, prohibits advertisements for \u201csubstances that alter mental state for the purpose of recreation or otherwise induce \u2018highs.&#8217;\u201d Apple similarly prohibits any apps that streamline cannabis delivery or information on its popular App Store. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p>However, things seem to be looking up for the cannabis industry and big tech\u2019s relationship. For example, Apple now allows verified \u201clegal cannabis dispensaries\u201d to display their apps in the App Store. Facebook too seems to have loosened its policies, as the formerly shadow-banned Belushi\u2019s Farm page is now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/belushisfarm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">back on the site<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With the cannabis industry having one of its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.veriheal.com\/blog\/the-skys-the-limit-for-the-cannabis-industry-in-2022\/\">biggest years yet<\/a>, it is clear that legal marijuana has real staying power. However, that doesn\u2019t mean that big tech\u2019s relationship with the cannabis industry doesn&#8217;t matter.
