Botanically, plants that are male or female are known as ‘dioecious’ plants. These kinds of plants also include ginkgo and kiwi alongside cannabis. In many cases, male versions of dioecious are planted in urban areas in order to avoid the mess of flowers and fruits. However, in the case of cannabis, females are preferably chosen to plant. The idea of having male and female plants can be quite curious to many people and there can be variations found throughout the entire plant kingdom.
