The Cannabis Project That's Breaking Barriers

Veriheal is partnering with Johns Hopkins University and Realm of Caring on one of the largest cannabis research studies to date. Called The National Cannabis Study, this research aims to advance the global understanding of medical cannabis through a multi-dimensional approach.

By focusing on real-world experiences and data, the study works to further cannabis education and inform clinical decision-making, product development, and public policy.

At Veriheal, we are committed to ensuring that every patient feels seen, heard, and supported on their personal wellness journey.

About Medical Marijuana In Florida

Florida keeps a list of qualifying conditions that make residents eligible for medical cannabis certification. Approved conditions include cancer, epilepsy, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, PTSD, ALS, Crohn’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis.

The list also covers medical conditions comparable to those above, a terminal condition diagnosed by a second physician, and chronic nonmalignant pain caused by or originating from a qualifying condition.

Becoming a patient is a three-step process. Veriheal helps you book an appointment with a licensed doctor who reviews your conditions, and once you are approved the doctor enters you into the Medical Marijuana Use Registry.

You then apply for a Registry Identification Card with the Florida Department of Health OMMU, submit the required documentation and a $75 fee, complete the Patient Attestation Form, and recertify with your doctor every seven months. Minors need recommendations from two physicians.

Along with a qualifying condition, a patient must prove Florida residency with a valid driver’s license or state identification card. Florida charges $75 for annual registration, which is separate from your recommendation fee.

A caregiver must meet state requirements to assist a patient with medical cannabis use. A caregiver card costs $75, and Veriheal can help caregivers and patients apply together to save money.

A caregiver must be a Florida resident over 21, complete a caregiver certification course through the registry every two years, and pass a background check unless they are a close relative of the patient.

A certified physician may not issue a certification for more than three 70-day supply limits, or more than six 35-day supply limits of raw flower for smoking or vaping.

Daily THC doses are capped at 60 mg for edibles, 350 mg for vaporization, 200 mg for capsules and tinctures, 190 mg for sublingual tinctures and suppositories, and 150 mg for topicals. A 35-day supply of smokable flower cannot exceed 2.5 oz.

Cultivation of medical cannabis for personal use is illegal in Florida for both patients and caregivers.

To renew your Florida card through Veriheal, schedule a renewal appointment with one of our physicians who can confirm you still need medical cannabis for your qualifying condition. We remind you when renewal is near, and you can reach our Customer Service Department to apply a renewal discount.
