What Cannabis Products Have the Highest Potencies and Prices?

What weed will get you the highest and what products have the highest price? This is a very common question with a lot of people these days who are new to cannabis. Money has always been tight for most people. The COVID-19 pandemic put an exceptional strain on many people’s finances. With cannabis legalization, people have options. You don’t just have to settle for whatever weed the dealer has or in this case the dispensary has. Dispensaries offer consumers a variety of cannabis at a variety of different pricing. Just because weed is expensive doesn’t mean that it is better though if it’s sourced properly this should be the case.

The Factors Behind Potency

When you go into a legal cannabis dispensary, budtenders will often ask you what you’re looking for. They are trying to determine whether you are after edibles, vape, concentrate, or flower. If you tell them that you’re looking for flower the next question is usually “do you prefer Indica, Sativa, or hybrid?” followed up by them pointing out the highest THC testing strains they carry of these varieties of cannabis. Some people get the most out of extremely high THC strains. Other people prefer a broad spectrum of cannabinoids versus a concentration of one.

Then there are also terpenes to consider. Current research around terpenes suggests they may influence the intake of cannabinoids by receptors. This means that certain terpenes may cause a receptor to absorb more cannabinoids or less depending on other factors such as individual body chemistry and concentration of cannabinoids for example.

When it comes to what we will actually get you the highest, it typically isn’t in the form of cannabis as most people think about it. When most people think about getting high and smoking weed they think about joints, bowls, blunts, or bongs. While all of these methods will produce positive results, cannabis-infused edibles, tinctures, and concentrates will undoubtedly get you the highest.

The Powerful Effect of Edibles

Cannabis-infused edibles are typically sold in 100 mg doses and up. The contents of the edible are usually divided into sections that average 10 mg of THC each. Some people can eat a whole 100 mg candy bar and go on about their day while others will find themself couch-locked. Some people can eat 500 mg or a thousand milligrams and function just fine. For others though, 10 mg can have them impaired beyond their ability to function to do their normal tasks. This is why it is always advised to consume edibles in low doses and wait a full 2 hours before consuming more. Tinctures and edibles have a longer onset time but the longevity and ceiling of the effects are much more intense. Get the lowdown on why edibles have an extra kick in this article!

Inhalation: One of the Fastest Onsets

If you’re looking for the fastest way to feel the effects of your cannabis, smoking is the way to go. Cannabis concentrates won’t let you down either. Dabbing has become an extremely popular way to consume cannabis. This method is a little more complicated than traditional forms of smoking flower but the results produced are significantly more intense. As people begin to learn more about consuming cannabis concentrates, cold start dabbing has caught on opening up a new world for consumers.

if you’ve never dabbed, that first dab can be a doozy. If somebody fixes you up a big dab and hands you a piping hot banger or nail it can ruin the experience for you. If someone introduces you to dabbing with a small cold start dab, you may find it much more enjoyable. This also opens up a door for you to help a multitude of different symptoms and conditions with this potent powerful cannabinoid delivery method.

Strains Known for Their Potency

Some people will only consume cannabis flower or bud. This means they only smoke it and nothing else. If that’s the case and you’re looking to find out what weed will get you the highest, you will want to check out a couple of different strains. The best advice would be to look at the most popular strains out there and give them a try. Old school classics like OG Kush, Haze, Skunk, and Northern Lights are surefire go-to strains when flowered to perfection. While these strains are all amazing, you may also want to look at some of the newer strains on the market such as Gorilla Glue, GMO, Meat Breath, or Clementine.

Keep in mind that the potency of cannabis is not found in the strain. The potency of cannabis and its quality is found in the grower. Strains can have the same name across the country and produce different results. You could end up with a Chemdawg that is pungent, potent, and delicious. At the same time, you could end up with a Chemdawg that should be called Stemdawg because it tastes like stems and seeds.  Be mindful and, when you have the option, always smell and visually examine the cannabis you are going to purchase first. These days you can’t squeeze the bag to find out if your buds are crumbly and dry or moist. You can, however, visually inspect cannabis for a frosty trichome profile, bud structure, and colors.

Here are some strains known for having high THC content:

  • Little Devil (55-60% THC)
  • Jack’s Girl (54% THC)
  • Quattro Kush (35% THC)
  • Godfather OG (34% THC)
  • Banana (24% THC)
  • Grease Monkey (31% THC)
  • Sativa 99 Problems (28-30% THC)
  • Ghost Train Hayes (28% THC)

The Price of the Elevation

Generally, the herb that will get you the highest also tastes the best. Great tasting pungent weed is usually found on the top shelf in cannabis dispensaries, but don’t automatically dismiss the middle shelves and specials. Sometimes you can find good weed on your budget shelf. An ounce of good smokeable cannabis flower can be priced anywhere from $99 to $125 in most places. But, if you’re looking for that fire, be prepared to pay for it. Ounces of top-shelf cannabis average between $200 to $400 or more. A variety of cannabis called Loud Dream has purportedly sold for $800 an ounce. Now, you might think that’s pricey but hang on to your seat because Cannabis Caviar will set you back $60 a gram or $1,400 an ounce. And here you thought your plug was pricey.

Finding What Works for You

You can grow top-quality cannabis at home for a fraction of the price you can buy it for. If it’s legal to grow where you live, you may want to consider exploring the world of cannabis cultivation. Just remember that it’s not always about the most expensive weed to get you the best buzz. It’s a combination of things that will help you achieve this. Knowing what delivery method produces the best results with cannabis for you should be your priority. After that find your favorite product be it an edible, vape, or strain of cannabis, and enjoy an elevated experience time after time.

I agree with what this article is saying but at the same time I am starting to suspect that almost all the dispensaries here in cali are selling CBD flower and passing it off as THC flower because the potency is horrible. I took a month long tolerance break from smoking vapes and decided to come back to flower and I don’t feel the effects of getting that high from todays flower. I feel like after we legalized it in 2018, these cannabis vendors have been ripping us off. Thoughts?
