God Save the Queen and Her Stash of CBD

While most cannabis consumers and patients can consume cannabis without the effects becoming too overwhelming, for others, this is not the case. For some cannabis consumers consuming a high level of THC can lead to unwanted effects such as paranoia or anxiety. For others, the psychoactive effects simply become too much for them to go about their daily activities. For this reason, many have turned what is known as microdosing.
In short, microdosing is precisely what it sounds like. It is consuming cannabis in tiny “micro” doses. One of the main goals for many patients and consumers who microdose is to receive the benefits that THC offers without becoming overly intoxicated. While microdosing is ideal for many consumers and patients, there are still other things that they can do and consider to better tailor their cannabis experience throughout the day.
Let’s take a closer look at how you can implement a daily microdosing routine that will have you feeling good and staying lifted throughout the day without becoming overly intoxicated and unable to complete the tasks at hand.
When tailoring your daily microdosing routine, there are a few things that you will want to keep in mind. For starters, your daily microdosing routine may be quite different than others. This is because cannabis treats everyone differently, and your method should be explicitly tailored to your specific needs, goals, and tolerance. When choosing how to microdose throughout the day, another essential aspect to keep in mind are the terpenes found within cannabis. While many people focus primarily on just cannabinoids, terpenes play a significant role in the effects produced by specific cannabis strains and products.
To start your day microdosing, it is advisable to take a minimal dose of cannabis. For some, this may be hitting a bowl a few times while for others, it may be consuming an edible or activated THC oil. To start your day on the right note, it is essential to consume just enough to keep your medical ailments at bay. It is also advisable to avoid cannabis products and strains containing terpenes known for providing relaxing effects.
For most, the ideal microdose would include between 5 and 10 mg of THC from a sativa dominant cannabis strain. Many also find it beneficial that this strain also contains a small CBD content as well. The first microdose of the day should also include terpenes that are known for providing uplifting and energetic effects such as limonene, myrcene, and terpinolene, to name a few.
Throughout the day, it is advisable to microdose with products that offer uplifting terpenes. Hybrid cannabis strains and products made from hybrids are an excellent choice for your midday microdosing. Depending on what time it is and what you have on the agenda for the day will play a significant role in what you want to consume at this time as you do not want to become overly energetic, nor do you want to start feeling strong relaxing or sedative effects. Products and strains that contain terpenes such as terpinolene, beta-caryophyllene, and myrcene are highly recommended for midday microdosing. While these terpenes are not sedative, they also tend not to provide an increase in energy either.
As the day progresses and your to-do list is being accomplished, it will be time to start thinking about what your body needs to get through the rest of the day and to have a good night’s rest. The products and strains that you consume in the late afternoon and evening can have a direct effect on your ability to rest that night. For this reason, it is advisable to avoid products that contain terpenes such as myrcene or limonene and instead look for strains and products that contain terpenes such as terpinolene, linalool, or caryophyllene. These terpenes and strains that contain them, as well as products that are high in CBN, CBG, and THC, tend to be the most relaxing for many patients and consumers.
