Canadian heartthrob Justin Bieber has entered the cannabis scene with the launch of his own line of cannabis products through a partnership with Los Angeles-based cannabis company Palms.
The limited-edition packs of pre-rolled joints are aptly titled Peaches, referencing his hit song of the same name and one of the most memorable lines from the chorus, “I get my peaches down in Georgia…I get my weed from California.” According to Bloomberg, the pre-rolls will be primarily marketed to Gen Zers and millennials, who “make up almost 40% of the cannabis market.”
Bieber, who has been open about experimenting with cannabis since he was a young teen, said he chose to partner with Palms because of the company’s goal of “making cannabis approachable and helping to destigmatize it.” Palms specializes in pre-rolled cannabis products that are easily used by first-time and casual consumers. The products were “created to ensure that everyone has access to a high-quality cannabis experience,” according to the Palms website.
In an effort to continue the destigmatization of cannabis, Palms announced that a portion of sales from Bieber’s line will go to Veterans Walk and Talk, a group of veterans advocating for legal medical cannabis, and the Last Prisoners Project, a nonprofit that aids people and families impacted by cannabis convictions.
Peaches pre-rolls will be available in California, Nevada, Florida, and Massachusetts. Bieber is the latest to join a growing group of celebrities taking part in the cannabis industry, including Jay-Z, Seth Rogen, Martha Stewart, Bella Thorne, and Wiz Khalifa.
